Columna Edicions
Columna Edicions is a benchmark in Catalan publishing. Founded in 1985, it boasts a multidisciplinary catalog of fiction and non-fiction that resonates with a broad audience. It currently offers one of the best catalogs of works by Catalan authors, including Emili Teixidor, Ferran Torrent, Empar Moliner, Maria Barbal, Toni Soler, Antoni Pladevall, Albert Villaró, Sílvia Soler, and Martí Gironell, alongside translations of highly relevant international authors such as Jonathan Franzen, Tom Wolfe, Mathias Enard, Åsa Larsson, Federico Moccia, and Stieg Larsson. While Columna primarily publishes fiction, it has expanded to include a diverse range of non-fiction works.
Columna stays attuned to audience trends and is highly active in various non-fiction categories, featuring authors with significant public reach. In general knowledge, figures like Valentí Fuster, Carles Torrecilla, and Jordi Basté stand out; in self-help, Joan Corbella and Josep López Romero; in cooking, Carme Ruscalleda and Marta Carnicero; and among media personalities, contributors from the shows Polònia and Crackòvia, as well as Andreu Buenafuente.
Since 1997, it has awarded the Premi Nèstor Luján for historical fiction. Additionally, it publishes the following novel prizes: Premi Prudenci Bertrana, Premi Pin i Soler, and Premi Carlemany for promoting reading.
