The Atresmedia Foundation, the corporate foundation of Atresmedia Group, contributes to promoting Media and Information Literacy (MIL) by launching intervention and awareness initiatives through which children and young people, with the involvement of their families and the educational community, develop their media, informational, and digital competencies. This enables them to critically analyze the media and all the information they receive, create, and share, as well as use devices in a healthy and responsible way, to facilitate their personal and civic development in the context of the information society.

Through its initiatives, the Atresmedia Foundation also aims to make society reflect on the fundamental importance of guaranteeing the right of children and young people to access quality information and providing them with useful tools to develop basic skills such as critical thinking, curiosity, responsible creativity, and values, enabling them to protect themselves from digital environment risks and become critical and free citizens.

Its main projects are:

Efecto MIL: This project aims to promote the positive use of social media and show young people how the content they create and share can have a positive impact when based on critical thinking, responsible creativity, and collaboration. Through a video of less than one minute for Instagram or TikTok, participants between the ages of 16 and 25, using their creativity, talent, and their own tools, are challenged to raise awareness on social media about the risks and opportunities of digital environments.

Mentes AMI: A project directed at teachers and educational centers that promotes the development of media, informational, and digital competencies in classrooms through two complementary actions: an awards call to promote, recognize, and disseminate educational initiatives developed in classrooms that foster critical thinking, responsible creativity, digital competencies, and values, and an annual educational gathering for knowledge and inspiration aimed at teachers, to contribute to the development of skills and competencies related to MIL and provide them with tools for classroom application through lectures, debates, and experiences from professionals from various fields.

Amibox: Educational audiovisual content hosted on Atresplayer and YouTube, aimed at young people (AMIBOX) and children (AMIBOX Kids), their families, and educators, to help them expand their knowledge of the world of media, information, and devices. The Atresmedia Foundation has also developed AMIBOX-Aula, a free interactive educational platform that allows teachers to work with their students on most of the media, informational, and digital competencies in Primary and Secondary Education, through learning situations, activities, and complementary materials with Amibox videos, and evaluate their progress.

Amiflash: Short content, starring young journalists from Atresmedia Group, produced and distributed on social media weekly, addressing current issues by integrating knowledge of the media, information management, and the advances and risks arising in the digital world.
